Domain Registration is the process of registering your website address (eg. yourwebsiteaddress.co.za). This is required before you have email or web hosting.
Email hosting is the service that allows for sending and receiving mail with your own email address (eg. yourname@yourwebsiteaddress.co.za). Often companies start by only using email hosting and upgrade to include website hosting when they are ready to begin development of their website.
Website hosting is a service that you must have before your website can be accessible on the world wide web. Hosting comes in different forms facilitating for different uses. Depending on the nature of the site, the hosting package may or may not require a database, a certain technology (ie. PHP, ASP, ColdFusion and others), a certain amount of disk space and bandwidth (also referred to as the volume of traffic you use).
