Google to Rank Mobile Friendly Websites Higher
Have you ever searched for something on your phone and landed on a website that is difficult to use because you have to zoom in and out, scroll left and right or try to press a button that is too small? Google knows how frustrating that is and is acting on it.
Google has announced that as of April 21st 2015 mobile-friendly websites will outrank their non-mobile-friendly websites (perhaps mobile-unfriendly?) of their competitors. This means that if your website is not mobile friendly you can expect to lose ranking in search engines for mobile users.
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.
